Neo Tiew
Neo Tiew is an area in Lim Chu Kang. It is located in the North West region in Singapore. North of Neo Tiew is the Sungei Buloh Nature Park which is home to many species of migratory birds. Fish farms and dairy farms in the region also attract many locals to the area during weekends as a form of gathering. South of Neo Tiew are rows of erected telephone transmitters operated by Singapore Telecom ==Etymology== Neo Tiew is named after Neo Ao Tiew (梁后宙), a prominent Chinese businessman. Neo is credited with the development of the Lim Chu Kang area, where he built roads, houses and a seaport. He was also the founder and sheriff of Lim Chu Kang Village. In 1967, the British colonial government named a 3.5km stretch of road "Neo Tiew Road" or "Neo Tiew Lane" in recognition of his contributions to the area.〔 *Victor R Savage, Brenda S A Yeoh (2003), ''Toponymics – A Study of Singapore Street Names'', Eastern Universities Press, ISBN 981-210-205-1〕
